Inter have two fitness concerns after international duty, as both Piotr Zielinski for Poland and Turkey’s Hakan Calhanoglu had injury scares.

The Nerazzurri had two of their players on target when Italy beat France 3-1 in Paris last night, Federico Dimarco and Davide Frattesi.

However, there was bad news from elsewhere in the Nations League for Simone Inzaghi.

Inter concern for Nations League stars

Calhanoglu was surprisingly only a substitute in the draw against Wales and Vincenzo Montella explained it was because of his fitness levels.

“We knew he could not play 90 minutes, so we did not want to run risks. We will continue evaluating his condition day by day.”

The midfielder sustained a small muscular problem during Inter’s 4-0 Serie A victory over Atalanta and has not fully recovered yet.

It is safe to say his club would’ve preferred that he did not go on international duty at all.

Meanwhile, Poland beat Scotland 3-2 at Hampden Park on Thursday and Zielinski went off injured at the 82nd minute.

He spoke to reporters and explained he had “a problem with my heel. As soon as I realised something was happening, I told the coach to prepare a change.”

Despite arriving over the summer as a free agent from Napoli, Zielinski is yet to make his official debut in the Nerazzurri jersey.
