Inter hand contract extensions to teenage duo

Inter have confirmed on Friday evening that teenage pair Giacomo Stabile and Aleksandar Stankovic have penned new, long-term contracts with the club.

Both born in 2005, Stabile and Stankovic are crucial cogs in Christian Chivu’s Primavera side and have both already been handed call-ups to the first team by head coach Simone Inzaghi.

A statement released on Inter’s official club website on Friday did not disclose the length of the players’ new deals, but they did confirm that both had signed “multi-year” contracts.

Stabile is a left-footed central defender by trade, but can and has been deployed at left-back when needed.

Stankovic, meanwhile, has plenty of Inter heritage running through his veins. The 18-year-old was born in the city of Milan just over a year after his father, Dejan, signed for the Nerazzurri from Lazio.

Dejan Stankovic went on to represent Inter for nine full seasons until his retirement in 2013. Aleksandar is following nicely in his footsteps and is making a name for himself as a combative midfielder, who can also deputise in defence if necessary.
