Roberto Mancini described Inter’s ideal January buys, including Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon and Lucas Leiva of Liverpool.
“We are lacking in attacking wingers. We need players who are fast, technically extraordinary, who score goals and can also defend,” said Mancini in yesterday’s Press conference.
“It’s not easy to find players, but if you go and find someone who is struggling for first team places and would benefit from playing elsewhere for six months to earn his place on international duty, then all parties can be satisfied with a loan spell.”
It has already been reported in Italian media this weekend that Tottenham benchwarmer Lennon is a prime target.
Another winger seeking regular first team football is Alessio Cerci, who is struggling to break through with Atletico Madrid.
Mancini is also looking for a midfielder and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva fits the bill.
This is certainly not the first time Lucas has considered a Serie A switch, as he has repeatedly been linked with a Rafa Benitez reunion at Napoli.
