Inter are reportedly considering picking up defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, who could be on the way out of Arsenal this summer.
The 24-year-old Japanese right back joined the Gunners from Bologna in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth around €18.6m, penning a four-year contract with an option for a fifth.
Tomiyasu struggled for consistent minutes in North London last season and the arrivals of Jakub Kiwior and Jurrian Timber suggest that he’ll feature even less regularly, leaving him in a difficult spot.
Calciomercato.com reports that Tomiyasu has been proposed to Inter, who are now considering making a move for the Arsenal defender this month.
The Nerazzurri like the idea of picking up the 24-year-old on a loan deal with a permanence clause attached, and the fact that he knows Serie A well is a key factor. His non-EU status is also not a problem, considering that there’s two free slots in the squad.
The only obstacle for Inter would be Tomiyasu’s wages; he currently earns around €3.5m gross per season and he wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the Growth Decree with a one-year loan.
