Inter and Nice keep Gosens and Parisi on their toes

Inter could let Robin Gosens leave for OGC Nice or a German club in January, bringing in Fabiano Parisi from Empoli instead.

According to Footmercato, Nice are desperate to bring in a left-back and have whittled the list down to two names, both of them based in Serie A.

They are Gosens at Inter and Empoli’s 22-year-old Parisi.

Curiously, La Gazzetta dello Sport also states that Parisi is the first choice for Inter as a replacement should Gosens move on mid-season.

He was purchased from Atalanta in January 2022 initially on loan with an obligation to buy for €27.4m next summer, but has barely featured due to injury and poor form.

The 28-year-old is eager to get more playing time and would prefer the Bundesliga to give him greater visibility after missing the World Cup in Qatar.

Parisi only just turned 22 this month and impressed with two goals in 14 Serie A appearances for Empoli this season.

He has seven caps for Italy at Under-21 level and was called up by Roberto Mancini for the recent senior Azzurri friendlies.
