Insigne: ‘Napoli regret Paris draw’

Lorenzo Insigne and Napoli feel that beating Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes until the 93rd minute “means we’re a great team.”

The Partenopei remain unbeaten and had twice gone in front through Insigne’s lob and a Dries Mertens toe-poke, but Mario Rui’s unlucky own goal and a stoppage-time Angel Di Maria stunner snatched a 2-2 result.

“We have regrets, as after this performance, we are a little sad. We have to look forward and try to find the positives,” Insigne told Sky Sport Italia.

“The important thing is that we didn’t lose, we face them on our home turf and we’ll do everything we can to get the three points.

“We prepare every game as if it’s a Final and that is positive. The Coach has so much experience and he makes us feel calm. It’s a pity about the equaliser, but we are improving.

“The fact we came here and were denied by a 93rd-minute equaliser means we are a great team and are on the right track.”

Insigne scored his second consecutive Champions League goal after beating Liverpool, this one with a delightful lob.

“It was a good movement to get into the space, but fortunately my teammates know how to find me and give me a great assist. I had a knock to the ribs and was struggling to breathe, but it’s slowly getting better and I should be ready to play on Sunday.”
