Napoli sensation Lorenzo Insigne has been described as a mix between Fabrizio Miccoli and Gianfranco Zola.

Insigne returned to his parent club this summer after loan spells at Foggia and Pescara under Zdenek Zeman.

An Italian Under-21 international, he made his debut for the full national side on Tuesday in the 2-0 win over Malta.

“He reminds me of Palermo’s Miccoli for his turn of pace and cleverness,” former Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”15″>Fiorentina boss Delio Rossi told Il Mattino.

“There are also similarities with ex-Napoli No 10 Zola, but Gianfranco had a wider range of play.”

Insigne is just one of a number of promising players who are trying to make a name for themselves in Serie A.

“Lorenzo is an advert for youngsters in Napoli and the south of Italy,” Rossi continued. “Insigne has an ease in getting past his man as he showed against Malta.

“He can do some great things alongside Goran Pandev and Edinson Cavani for his club, even if he will need patience.”
