Mauro Icardi is racing against time to secure a contract extension with Inter, so he can join PSG on loan with option to buy.
The striker has been an outcast all summer, told he was not in Antonio Conte’s plans, but he refused all transfers including Napoli, Roma and Monaco.
He even took legal action against the club last week, demanding €1.5m compensation and to be immediately put back into full training sessions.
It was seen as a last-gasp bid to force his exit and seems to have worked.

According to multiple reports, including Sky Sport Italia and TMW, Icardi’s wife/agent Wanda Nara has been working through the night with Inter directors to thrash out a contract extension.
As his current deal is due to expire in June 2021, that leaves Inter at risk of losing him as a free agent, so he needs to extend to June 2022 before he can be allowed to leave on loan.
Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be including an option to buy at the end of the season, whereas Valencia – who also made an offer last night – were only ready for a dry loan.
Icardi is ready to fly out to Paris only after lunch, if all the details have been finalised.
