Despite links with Milan, Jose Mourinho says Zlatan Ibrahimovic could stay at Manchester United.
The striker is currently a free agent after his United contract expired, but he won’t be able to play for several months after a cruciate ligament injury.
He can sign for a club outside of the transfer window, and it has been suggested he could return to Milan in October or November.
However, the Red Devils’ manager says Ibra could instead return to Old Trafford for the second half of the season.

“He’s injured, he needs time to recover, he’s not ready to play tomorrow,” Mourinho said in his Press conference ahead of Sunday’s West Ham United game.
“It’s not something urgent, it’s not something where we’re desperate to have it done, I just think that he was very clear in showing what he did last year, it wasn’t enough for him, he thinks he can do more.
“He wants more at football’s highest level, so we’re having conversations and we’re discussing the possibility of him staying with us for the second part of the season.”
