Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be handed a new contract with Italian champions Milan, reports the Corriere dello Sport.

The Swedish international, signed in 2010 from Barcelona, is currently tied to the Diavolo until June 2015.

The report claims that Ibra’s agent Mino Raiola yesterday met with Milan officials Adriano Galliani and Ariedo Braida at Milanello.

It’s understood they discussed the possibility of the striker putting pen to paper on a deal until 2016, an agreement that would see him instantly net a salary increase.

The 30-year-old is already Milan’s highest paid player thanks to an annual wage of around €9m after tax.

It’s also understood that Raiola discussed the future of Mark Van Bommel, another of his clients at the club.

The Dutchman’s contract expires at the end of the season and he’s been linked with a return to former club PSV.
