Hysaj set for Napoli renewal?

Elseid Hysaj’s agent has confirmed that the right-back will open talks with Napoli over a new contract shortly.

Hysaj was linked with following Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea over the summer but ultimately stayed to work under Carlo Ancelotti, and Mario Giufreddi expects the Albanian to have his best season yet.

“Hysaj? He’ll be better than in previous years,” he told CalcioNapoli24.

“His primary objective had been the defensive phase, but now he’ll have to also think about attacking phase for Ancelotti’s game.

“In Napoli’s first two games, he provided an assist and almost scored a goal. Not joining Chelsea? Hysaj’s very happy that he stayed.

“He has great desire to be coached by Ancelotti, he’s a smart lad and he knows he has excellent room for improvement with Ancelotti.

“In the next few weeks, we’ll discuss a new contract with Napoli. It’s also in their interests. Hysaj was born in 1994 and is one of the best in Europe.

“There was a chat with Napoli in Dimaro and we arranged to meet in September.”
