Edoardo Garrone has thanked everyone for their messages after his father’s funeral and urged Sampdoria fans to remember him on Sunday “with a joyful celebration.”
President Riccardo Garrone passed away this week and his funeral was held in the Genoa Cathedral on Wednesday.
“On behalf of myself and my family, I want to thank everyone – Blucerchiati fans and not – for the show of affection and condolences,” said Edoardo Garrone, who now inherits the Presidency.
“On Sunday Sampdoria will play their first game without my father. He loved Marassi when it had a festival atmosphere and I would like him to be remembered with a joyful celebration.
“To honour his memory, I’d like Marassi to be full of Blucerchiati flags and people who want to remember him and his great love for Sampdoria.”
