Keisuke Honda complained that Milan fans “abandon us” when the team is in difficulty. “We feel no love. They just care about the results.”
The creative midfielder is on international duty with Japan and told Kyodo News it’s a very different experience at San Siro.
“In Japan you almost never hear any jeers, but I think there are far too many aimed at my club,” said Honda.

“What really doesn’t work at Milan is that when we are trailing in a game, the fans abandon us. We feel no love from the supporters.
“As soon as we start to win, they treat us like we’re one of the family. They just care about the results and the numbers. It’s all about winning or losing.
“It is one of the reasons why not just Milan, but also the Italy squad are in their current situation. In Italy they are obsessed with the results and you can only handle that if you are good with pressure.
“If you try to do something new, then you can’t deal with that sort of attitude.”
