Hernanes suffers the cold

Lazio midfield playmaker Hernanes insists he is happy at the club, but claims the cold temperatures in Rome at this time of year have taken him by surprise.

The 25-year-old Brazil international has proven to be a revelation since his arrival from Sao Paulo in the summer, inspiring Lazio to second place in Serie A.

"As soon as I finish training I go back to my family," Hernanes told globoesporte.com.

"We are at home and play with the kids also because the cold has arrived in Rome. It's 8 or 9 degrees."

Hernanes did clarify that there are many things he likes about living in the Eternal City, such as the food.

"Italian cuisine is very good. I love spaghetti with sauce. A Roman friend is teaching me how to prepare a risotto with cheese.

"But whenever I am nostalgic for our cuisine, I go to a Brazilian restaurant here in Rome. The owner is a Lazio fan.

"La Picanha (a Brazilian meat dish) is really good," he concluded.
