Inter captain Samir Handanovic has claimed the Europa League Final against Sevilla must be ‘a starting point’ for the Nerazzurri. ‘It must become a habit’.
The Slovenia international arrived at Inter in July 2012 but has yet to pick up a trophy during his time in Milan.
“When I arrived, I always aimed to play for trophies,” Handanovic said at a press conference. “At last, we can fight for something important, this must be a starting point.

The Slovenia international arrived at Inter in July 2012 but has yet to pick up a trophy during his time in Milan.
“When I arrived, I always aimed to play for trophies,” Handanovic said at a press conference. “At last, we can fight for something important, this must be a starting point.
“It must become a habit, like 10 to 15 years ago. Inter always played for the Scudetto and the cups.
“Now we have reached the point where we can play for something important and I’m proud to be here today.
“From day one, I wanted to win.”
Handanovic says Inter ‘are united’ ahead of the big match and are prepared ‘to sacrifice’ themselves to win the trophy.
“We are united as a group. The wins have helped us grow and gave us awareness,” he said. “We want to correct mistakes and we have improved a lot.
“There’s the desire to sacrifice ourselves, we know and understand how to win games.
“We have progressed. Since the beginning of the year, the group have been strong, solid and compact.”
