The Slovakia international’s return to Europe prompted many Napoli fans to flood his Instagram page asking him about a possible return to the Partenopei.
The 33-year-old refused to rule anything out adding that anything is possible after his contract with the Swedish giants expires at the end of August.
"Never say never, and I'll never close this [door] because I played there all of my career,” Hamsik said at the press conference.
“They have a special place in my heart, it is my second home and of course it is maybe one of the opportunities, but I am not thinking about this.
"Only today I signed my contract with IFK Goteborg and I'm only thinking about this club and this moment. Afterwards we will see what will happen."
The Slovakian international captain stressed that IFK Goteborg was his ‘only’ choice after they gave him a great first impression.
"[IFK] was the only club and was a club who was very interested in me. They were very serious and very quick, and I wasn't considering anything else."
