Guidolin is ‘over Udinese flop’

Francesco Guidolin is confident Udinese are “no longer looking back” at their European failure and can now move forward.

The Friulani were surprisingly knocked out of the Europa League at the play-off stage by Slovan Liberec and have three points from their first two Serie A rounds.

“We have definitively overcome the disappointment at missing out on Europe, so now we are ready to start again,” said the Coach in a Press conference.

“Up until a few days ago there were still many feelings of bitterness, but the break for international duty enabled us to work very well and look forward. We are no longer looking back.

“I will admit I felt much bitterness too, as I really didn’t expect to go out in the play-offs, but I too must look beyond that and concentrate on the next games.”

Udinese will face Bologna and Chievo, who they beat during the final weeks of last season that saw them snatch fifth place.

“Last season was a lovely memory, but we must wipe the slate clean and start from scratch. A good end to one season does not mean a strong start to the next. Things change over time.”
