Albert Gudmundsson admitted it ‘would be nice’ to link up with Teun Koopmeiners at Juventus following reported interest from the Old Lady.

The 26-year-old Icelandic forward has continued to shine this season under Alberto Gilardino, netting 12 goals and providing four assists in 28 matches across Serie A and the Coppa Italia, attracting the attention of a number of clubs including Tottenham, Juventus, Fiorentina and more.

Genoa have already set a €30-35m price tag on Gudmundsson, who has a contract on the Ligurian coast lasting to June 2027. The Rossoblu’s comfortable financial position also gives them a strong starting point for negotiations in the coming summer transfer window.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia via TMW, Gudmundsson first discussed Genoa’s upcoming Serie A clash with Juventus.

“My first goal with the Genoa shirt was against Juventus, two years ago at the Marassi, I felt great. And I scored again this year at home.

“We have to think as a team, it’s important to get a result, not just score. Sunday won’t be easy, but we’ll always take to the pitch trying to win.”

He was then asked about the idea of linking back up with his former AZ Alkmaar teammate Koopmeiners at Juventus. Both players have been heavily linked with a move to Turin in the summer.

“In football, never say never but I don’t know. Obviously, many things can happen, I don’t know his future and to tell you the truth I don’t know mine either. We’ll see, it would still be nice to play with him again because he’s a fantastic player.”
