Guarin: ‘New adventure in China’

Fredy Guarin explains he left Inter because “I was looking for a new experience”.

The midfielder left the Nerazzurri in January to join Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, and spoke to Marca about the move, as the team is training in Spain.

“I wanted a change after my experience in Italy,” Guarin explained.

“I was looking for a new adventure in my career and in my life. I chose Shanghai because my friend [Giovanni] Moreno has been playing here for three and a half years now.

“I was looking for a new adventure in my career and in my life. I chose Shanghai because my friend [Giovanni] Moreno has been playing here for three and a half years now.

“I was attracted by the fact that it’s a very competitive League, which is attracting top players and can grow rapidly.

“I still haven’t been to China, I’ve been here with the squad for two weeks, but it makes me proud that so many top players are coming from Europe and more will come.”
