Vincenzo Grifo says “I feel 100 per cent Italian” after receiving his first call-up to the Azzurri squad.
The Hoffenheim midfielder was born in Germany to Italian parents and his spent his entire career there, but he has played for Italy’s Under-20s.
Roberto Mancini has called him to the senior team for the games against Portugal and the U.S.A and he spoke to Tuttomercatoweb from Coverciano.
“It’s a dream to be here with the national team,” Grifo began.

“It’s a dream to be here with the national team,” Grifo began.
“I feel 100 per cent Italian and the first two days here have been beautiful. I’m happy and I want to work.
“I was born in Germany and I went to school there, I moved to Hoffenheim was I was 18, then I wore the shirts of Frankfurt and Freiburg.
“I stood out and I got the call from Borussia Monchengladbach, then there was the chance to go back to Hoffenheim this year to play in the Champions League.
“Would I like to play in Italy? I’ve only come to Italy for Under-20 or Under-21 games. You never know, but I’m happy at Hoffenheim and I want to do well.”
