“It’s a difficult match, one that means a lot to the fans and is important for us. We need to win in order to hang on to the European places,” the Argentina international told Mediaset Premium and Inter TV.

“We know the objective is to get back into the Europa League, that gave us the fire to return to our levels of performance. It’ll be a fight to the end with another three or four sides.

“It’s good for Italian football that we reach this stage of the season and more or less every team still has something to play for.”

It was reported today that Argentina have drawn up the provisional squad for the 2018 World Cup and Inter hitman Mauro Icardi is not on it.

“Icardi is playing well, so am I. Argentina have so many strong players, but we’ll do everything we can to change Jorge Sampaoli’s mind.”
