Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is not impressed by judgments on Thibaut Courtois and says that who does not consider him among the top ten goalkeepers in the world should ‘give up his journalism or coaching license.’
The Belgium international has kept 16 clean sheets in 38 games across all competitions this term, conceding 29 goals.
The magazine FourFourTwo left him out of the top ten goalkeepers in the world and Ancelotti didn’t seem impressed by their choice.
“That is nonsense. Don’t ask me to tell you what I think of Courtois,” he said at a press conference, as quoted by Marca.
“For me, he’s the best goalkeeper in the world, but I’m biased. Dani Carvajal and [Ferland] Mendy are the same for me in their position. If you say that about Courtois, you have to give up your journalism or coaching license.”
Ancelotti signed a three-year deal with Real Madrid last summer. His Real Madrid side is enjoying a seven-point lead over second-placed Sevilla and faces Mallorca away tonight.
