“Osimhen is able to create spaces, work for the team, is constantly attacking and going to the posts, so he will do great things in future without doubt,” Giuntoli told Sky Sport Italia.
“I maintain he can reach double figures for goals in his debut Serie A season, yes.”
The Partenopei failed to sell Milik this summer, as a move to Roma collapsed at the last minute, while Manchester City never reached the Kalidou Koulibaly asking price.
“COVID certainly acted as a Sword of Damocles over every club and indeed every business. We have an approach, we used our brains and will emerge from this period with focus.
“There are quite a few great stars at Napoli, including Koulibaly, Lorenzo Insigne, Piotr Zielinski, so we’ve built up a really valuable group of players.
“We offered Milik a renewal several times, he never wanted to sign and always pushed to leave, so naturally we had to look elsewhere. It wasn’t a financial decision, it was a personal one for him.”
Napoli spent much of the last two weeks in a ‘bubble’ following COVID-19 tests for Zielinski and Eljif Elmas, so used that as a sort of replacement pre-season training camp.
“We made the most of a strange period to stay together and work intensively in training.”
