Giroud’s stance on MLS transfer revealed

Olivier Giroud admits he could move to the MLS in the summer but refuses to rule out extending with Milan.

The experienced French striker has released an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, talking about his future at the club, among other things.

His deal at the Stadio Meazza runs out this coming June.

“I still don’t know what will happen in the future. I know that I am happy at Milan and that we’ve done great things,” said Giroud.

“It’s a great love story. The club and I haven’t discussed an extension yet, we’ll see and decide later on. The most important thing is to remain focused on the team’s targets.

“MLS? There are other countries too. There will be more opportunities at the end of the season and I’ll decide. As a father and as a footballer.”

Giroud didn’t seem worried about Milan signing a new, younger striker in the summer.

“It wouldn’t be a problem, I do not fear competition. It’s always motivated me to do more.”

The 2018 France World Cup winner also discussed his rapport with Stefano Pioli and revealed what Zlatan Ibrahimovic expects from him.
