Sebastian Giovinco’s goal wasn’t enough for Toronto, as they lost the CONCACAF Champions League final to Guadalajara.
Giovinco’s side won MLS, but qualified for the tournament via the Canadian Championship, as representatives of Canada.
They had lost the first leg of the final at BMO field, so had a mountain to climb in Mexico last night.
It appeared the tie was over when Orbelín Pineda opened the scoring after 19 minutes, but Jozy Altidore equalised for The Reds.

Just before half-time, Giovinco put Toronto ahead with a low finish at the near post to level the tie on aggregate.
The teams couldn’t be separated in normal time, and the final ended up going to penalties.
Giovinco scored his, but teammates Jonathan Osorio and former Roma man Michael Bradley both missed as Guadalajara scored four from four.
