Genoa and Roma are due to meet tomorrow to discuss exchanging Marco Borriello with Alberto Gilardino.
Although Gilardino spent last season at Bologna, he is still owned by Genoa and they were unable to agree terms with the Stadio Dall’Ara side.
Gila is wanted by Roma as a reliable centre-forward under new Coach Rudi Garcia.
Borriello is owned by Roma and was on loan at Genoa last term, a club where the 31-year-old would like to join on a permanent basis.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the two clubs will meet on Sunday morning via Genoa President Enrico Preziosi and Roma director of sport Walter Sabatini.
Roma would have to add a cash sum to the deal, as Gilardino is valued more highly than Borriello.
