The Blucerchiati have are smarting after a humiliating 4-1 defeat to relegation-threatened Crotone.

“Accepting criticism is part of the job and frankly we deserved it on Sunday,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“A slip-up can happen, but only as long as we learn from it and improve. Having said that, I want to defend my players, because it was the first time they had the wrong attitude in my 70 games at this club. We can make up for it via our next performances.

“Inter are a strong side who have one of the best Coaches in Europe in Luciano Spalletti. However, if it’s a difficult game for us, it certainly won’t be easy for them either. Neither of us can afford to lose right now.

“I expect the right approach, the one we know that we can take. We must always take the game to the opposition and if we lose, I want it to be having played our football.

“If I can afford a glass of champagne, I’ll drink champagne, otherwise I’ll have to drink fizzy water. Sampdoria can’t win them all, but mustn’t rest on our laurels when playing like we did against Benevento or Crotone.

“Bartosz Bereszynski has recovered and Emiliano Viviano lives for the game, so he’ll be able to play. The only absentees are Jacopo Sala and suspended Karol Linetty.”
