Genoa defender Daniele Portanova says his side want to finish the season on a high by overtaking local rivals Sampdoria.
The Rossoblu are safe for another season in Serie A but the 35-year-old believes there is still one important objective remaining.
“The two targets set before the season started were to get a united and settled team and to stay up,” Portanova said at a Press conference today.
“We have achieved them both. We have managed to have a campaign free of turbulence, though we could maybe have collected a few more points.
“But I am satisfied with the season.
“I want to reiterate that we are a great group here at Genoa.
“Our objectives now? We want to overtake Sampdoria and claim the city bragging rights!”
