Genoa try to lock down Kouame

Christian Kouame is in discussions to extend his contract with Genoa after approaches from Sassuolo, Lyon, Marseille, Lille and Borussia Dortmund.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the 21-year-old striker has earned an improved salary after four goals and six assists in his debut Serie A season, not to mention an impressive summer of performances.

He is set to receive €1m net per season until June 2024, as his contract currently runs to June 2023.

Genoa have not entirely ruled out a transfer, but would want at least €15m plus €5m in bonuses to part with the Ivorian.
