Genoa set to walk away from potential Ndombele deal – report

Genoa are preparing to walk away from negotiations with Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, despite reports that the two clubs had reached an agreement over a season-long loan deal.

Multiple outlets reported on Wednesday morning that Genoa had convinced Tottenham to let Ndombele leave on loan for the season and that they had a potential fee in place.

However, the latest update from Fabrizio Romano states that an agreement has not been reached on personal terms and with little time remaining in the transfer window, Genoa are not prepared to hang around much longer.

Ndombele, who lifted the 2022-23 Serie A title during the time he spent on loan with Napoli, is not part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans in North London and the club have reportedly been trying to find a new home for the Frenchman.

Genoa, however, is not likely to be Ndombele’s next destination. The club will instead turn to different targets, which, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, include Galatasaray’s Berkan Kutlu and Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek.
