Genoa make Destro promise

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has claimed that Siena’s Mattia Destro will return to the Stadio Ferraris.

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has claimed that Siena’s Mattia Destro will return to the Stadio Ferraris.

The Italian Under-21 international is currently at Siena, a club who will be forced to buy a half-share in him from the Rossoblu over the summer.

However, a switch at the end of the season beckons for the former Inter player after eight goals in 24 League games for the Tuscan minnows.

“Mattia Destro’s future will be Genoa,” Preziosi insisted on Friday afternoon. “He’s predestined for greatness. I have always told him that he would do well.”

The forward, only 21, has been linked with a return to Inter as well as League leaders Juventus.

Meanwhile, Preziosi admitted that Milan are keen on Francesco Acerbi, another co-owned player who is impressing at Chievo.

“It’s true,” he stated. “He is of interest to the Rossoneri.”

The player’s agent today insisted that no agreement between the clubs currently exists for the central defender.
