Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has given up on Antonio Cassano “with regret. He’s in advanced talks with Parma.”

Inter are on the verge of handing Cassano and Matias Silvestre to Parma on loan with option to buy plus €10m to sign French-Algerian forward Ishak Belfodil.

Genoa have persistently been linked with an attempt to hijack the Cassano switch, but this evening President Preziosi met with agent Beppe Bozzo.

“Cassano is in advanced talks with Parma, so it would be pointless for us to try to intercept those at this stage.

“I will admit, I say that with regret. We discussed other things with Bozzo, as he is an agent who represents many players.”
