“Tomorrow we’re playing a team that are very well organised and really put in a shift. They run a lot,” said Gattuso in his press conference.
“But for us what is important is this game and not to think about ahead to the games against Lazio or Juventus. We think only about three points and it will be very difficult.”
Napoli have brought in Diego Demme from RB Leipzig and Stanislav Lobotka from Spanish side Celta Vigo, and Gattuso believes that both players can make an impact on their season.
“Demme and Lobotka have fantastic quality on the ball. they can both help us out. Demme can play in a two-man midfield, whilst Lobotka can play as a mezzala with different characteristics, or in a defensive midfield role.
“The quality of training has jumped a level, the ball now travels a lot faster.
“Demme wasn’t the Leipzig captain for many years by chance. He’s a quality player who understands the game.”
“We know what kind of player Lobotka is. He’s different from Demme, who plays with a maximum of two touches, Lobotka is similar to Marco Verratti, he carries the ball.”
Gattuso revealed that he still has players unavailable due to injury.
“Nikola Maksimovic is back today, Dries Mertens returned the other day, whilst with Kalidou Kolibaly it depends on what he tells us, but for now all three are still missing.
“We miss Maksimovic and Koulibaly in defence.”
