Gaston Ramirez seems set for a return to Sampdoria, under five months after he was released by the club.
The Uruguayan returned to Serie A when Sampdoria signed him from Middlesbrough in August 2017 for a reported €6.3m.
The 30-year-old stayed until July 2021, when his deal expired, and he was released by the Blucerchiati.
Tuttomercatoweb, however, reports he is on the verge of completing a return to Marassi, just under five months after he left the club.
Ramirez, capped 43 times by Uruguay, played 121 competitive games with Samp and contributed 16 goals and 21 assists in the process.
The attacking midfielder’s representatives met with the club today and could return as a free agent on a deal until June 2022.
