The Coach signed a new contract with the club to June 2021, while Atalanta also have an option until 2022.
“We decided to extend the contract because I am happy in Bergamo, I believe here we have everything needed to do good work and we want to start this new chapter of the adventure together,” said Gasp in his Press conference.
“Milan have a lot of quality in the side and added Gonzalo Higuain to a team that was already strong. They’re in good form, but I have to above all focus on my own team and how we will approach the game.
“We must find a way to play good football, remain solid and difficult to overcome. The defeats to Cagliari and SPAL rang alarm bells and we’ve got to begin again from what we know best.
“The reality is that we have to make slight adjustments to find ourselves again. We’ll take it one game at a time, facing Milan with courage and humility.
“In the last 18 months, we have lost eight first team players. That era has concluded, we are assembling the various parts to form a new whole and that takes a little time.
“This is a more complicated season compared to recent years and we must avoid the pressure to get a result at all costs. We must press the reset button and stop thinking about the old Atalanta.”
