Gagliardini bids farewell to Inter: ‘Incredible journey’

Roberto Gagliardini thanked Inter and their fans in his farewell message, having left after six-and-a-half years at the club.

The 29-year-old Italian midfielder is now a free agent after his contract with the Nerazzurri drew to a close this week.

Gagliardini made 190 appearances across all competitions for Inter since his initial arrival from Atalanta in January 2017, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists in that time.

Writing on his Twitter page, Gagliardini thanked Inter and the fans for their support over the last six-and-a-half years.

“Goodbye Inter! Thank you for these years together… wonderful, intense: a privilege to be part of this family! Thank you for helping me grow on and off the pitch. Thank you ALL for this incredible journey!!! THANK YOU INTER.”

The 29-year-old midfielder is now expected to move across Lombardy to Monza, where he’ll reportedly sign a three-year contract worth around €1.5m net per season.

Gagliardini did not feature heavily under Simone Inzaghi in his final season at the club, seeing just 1038 minutes of action across 29 total appearances.

The Italian was part of the Inter team that won a Scudetto, two Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana titles.
