Inter flop Gabriel Barbosa has been named as the biggest ‘bidone’ of last year by an Italian website.
The ‘Bidone d’Oro’ or ‘Golden Bin’ was given to the most disappointing player in Serie A at the end of each calendar year by Catersport.
The programme on Rai 2 has been cancelled, but the website calciobidone is continuing the tradition.
Today it has named the “winner” of the prize for 2017, with the striker known as Gabigol getting the nod in a readers’ poll.

Today it has named the “winner” of the prize for 2017, with the striker known as Gabigol getting the nod in a readers’ poll.
The Brazilian international arrived for a fee of €33.5m in 2016, but failed to make a single Serie A start and scored only once.
He’s now on loan at Benfica, but a lack of playing time there has seen speculation that he’ll return to his homeland.
The website states that “paying €30m for him was really throwing it out the window”, and noting that “many words and very little substance” surrounded the player.
While it’s noted the fans were on Gabigol’s side and there were several changes of Coach “if none of the three Coaches played him, evidently he doesn’t have it in him to be a superstar”.
It’s also pointed out that he stormed down the tunnel during Inter-Lazio when Andrea Pinamonti was subbed on ahead of him.
