Italy’s anti-doping agency has announced there will be “further investigations” after speaking to Stefan de Vrij today.
The Lazio centre-back failed to sign off on one of his samples after the match against Verona on February 19.
Today the defender, as well as Biancocelesti doctor Angelo Ventura met with Nado Italia to explain the issue, but there will be further investigations.
“The anti-doping prosecution of Nado Italia, led by Pierfilippo Laviani, will proceed with further investigations on the case involving Stefan De Vrij,” the body confirmed in a statement.
De Vrij has not failed a drug test, and this procedure relates solely to the improper signing off of his samples.
