Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle confirmed their “first objective” is to keep Colombia star Juan Cuadrado.

He spent this season with the Viola jersey and the club bought him outright from Udinese, but his performances at the World Cup have alerted sides like Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

“We’ll do everything possible to keep hold of Cuadrado,” Della Valle told the media.

“It is a difficult situation, but my first objective is to maintain Cuadrado in Florence. There are no firm price-tags set, nor have I spoken to any other clubs.

“I must admit, Cuadrado’s performances and visibility in the World Cup aren’t helping…”

Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez suffered from long-term knee injuries during the campaign, so Fiorentina were rarely at full-strength.

“With Gomez and Rossi we’ll have two diamonds and I’m sure they will both be very motivated. With two adjustments, this squad will be super.

“Our objective is to always be in the top six.”
