According to multiple sources in Italy, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Milan have all but reached an agreement over the Swede’s return to San Siro, and now all that is missing is a confirmation of the time of the official announcement.
Calciomercato.com and SportMediaset are reporting on Thursday afternoon that an agreement has already been reached between the two parties.
Ibrahimovic has been in negotiations with Milan directors for several weeks, but the move could be made official within the next few days according to certain reports.
In fact, an announcement could even potentially arrive before the weekend according to claims on Page 20 of Thursday’s La Gazzetta dello Sport.
There are, however, some contradictions in Thursday’s reports over the timing of the announcement. Calciomercato hints that with an important game against Lecce coming up before another international break, supporters may still need to wait for official confirmation for a few more days.
It is expected that Ibrahimovic will take on the role of an ‘external advisor’, acting as a link between the first team squad and the board of directors. He will be operational, meaning he will likely be involved in footballing decisions.
