Inter director Luis Figo tells the squad “the time has come for the players to prove they are not finished” against Olympique Marseille.

The Nerazzurri have lost five of their last six games, during which they failed to even score, and it’s crunch time in the Champions League this evening.

“I think this has been an atypical season for us, considering all we’ve done in the past,” Figo told Sky Sport Italia.

“We changed Coach at the start and that was not easy, but we reacted and then fell again. The time has come for the players to prove they are not finished and can still do well.”

Figo has been widely reported as the likely replacement should Claudio Ranieri be sacked before the end of the campaign.

“We have a Coach and staff, so everyone is covering their position in this area. We hope to get a positive result this evening. I hope, for the good of Inter, that nothing changes for the rest of the season.

“Anyone who has played football knows how important these games are, especially when things are not going well. There is a sense of responsibility and hope to get a good result here.”
