FIGC ruled on Wednesday that UK and Swiss players will be treated as Europeans starting this summer, meaning Italian clubs won’t fill a spot for non-EU players with their purchase.
Thursday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport (page 2) reveals which players could move to the Premier League thanks to this new rule.
Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is pushing to reunite with Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, while Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin has reportedly been offered to Roma.
‘Disappointed’ Manchester United defender Maguire is seen as an option for Napoli, Juve, Inter, Milan and Roma if José Mourinho sells a defender. According to the report, Man United would be open to discussing a loan deal with an option to buy.
Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah has also been linked with a move to Serie A for some time, with Inter and Napoli who have already sounded out the defender’s availability. Chalobah is on his way out of Chelsea and the same is true of Tanganga at Tottenham.
The English defender was in talks with Milan and Roma in the past and Atalanta are now monitoring his situation.
Former Roma and Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, now available as a free agent is said to be an option for Bologna. Ex-Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also available for free while Milan have been linked with 19-year-old Chelsea starlet Carney Chukwuemeka.
