The former Juventus defender and tactician was linked with the Pescara job recently before Giovanni Stroppa was appointed.

Some stories on Monday then suggested that the Neapolitan could be a contender to replace Beppe Iachini if he left newly promoted Sampdoria.

“My future? We’ll see each other again on 15 August against Holland,” the 45-year-old stated this afternoon.

Football Italian Federation President Giancarlo Abete added: “Why wouldn’t Ferrara remain on the Azzurrini bench?”

Ferrara replaced Pierluigi Casiraghi in October 2010 after being targeted by Arrigo Sacchi, the co-ordinator of Italy’s various FIGC’s youth teams.
