Ferguson: Napoli look to steal Bologna star from Juventus grasp

Napoli have opened talks with Bologna star Lewis Ferguson in an attempt to get the jump on Juventus and three interested Premier League clubs, Daniele Longo details.

The 24-year-old Scottish midfielder has been one of the key figures in Thiago Motta’s Rossoblu squad this term, playing a vital role in their Cinderella story. The Emilia-Romagna outfit still sit fourth in the Serie A table with seven games left to play, three points ahead of Roma.

Ferguson has already started to attract attention ahead of the summer transfer window, with Juventus keen ahead of a possible deal with Thiago Motta, as well as Premier League sides Aston Villa, Fulham and Nottingham Forest, who all made attempts in January.

As reported by Longo of Calciomercato.com, Napoli are ready to welcome new sporting director Giovanni Manna from Juventus, and he is already look to pull a quick move in the transfer window, wanting to beat the Old Lady to Ferguson.

The Partenopei have already opened exploratory talks with the Scottish midfielder’s entourage, willing to invest to bolster their squad in the summer. Bologna want around €25m for the 24-year-old and aren’t willing to offer any discounts.
