Felipe Anderson ‘sorry’ for Lazio performance against Torino but called for fans to unite

Felipe Anserson apologised on behalf of the Lazio team for the performance they put in during the 1-0 loss to Torino at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening.

The Biancocelesti were pegged back after 43 minutes following a powerful strike from Ivan Ilic, which Ivan Provedel was unable to keep out, despite getting a hand to.

Having gone in for half-time trailing by one, Lazio tried to play their way through the Torino defence, but the Granata were resolute and some strong individual performances at the back helped them on their way to victory.

Speaking in the mixed zone of the Stadio Olimpico, Anderson apologised for the team’s disappointing result, stating: “We are so sorry because our path has taken us downhill in the standings, we came from a good run playing positive games.

“We knew that today was a very tough match that we prepared well. We’re sorry for the result, but we can’t let our heads drop now. The passing was lacking on the pitch, up front, there was a lack of quick play.

“We have to keep working and thinking about the next match. We’ll learn and we’ll do better in the next matches.”

The Brazillian called upon the Lazio supporters to unite and get behind the team for the remaining games of this season as the squad need an added boost now more than ever.

“We want to be together with the fans because they give us an incredible boost, we need them now especially, because we have to restart immediately.

“We have to unite, team and fans. If we think too much forward, we make mistakes because there are races like this that can hurt us. From now on they are all finals”.

Up next for Lazio is a trip north to face Inter at San Siro next Sunday.
