Inter director general Marco Fassone insists “the negotiations were not concluded” with Juventus for Mirko Vucinic and Fredy Guarin.
This evening Juve dg Beppe Marotta made scathing comments about Inter’s part in the failed transfer, accusing the club of lying in its statements, “mistreating the players” and backing out of a move that was already sealed.
“I don’t want to comment on their Press conference,” Fassone told VideoInter tonight.
“I can only confirm what we said yesterday in our statement, my comments and President Thohir’s statement: For Inter the negotiations were not concluded.
“Yesterday afternoon we officially informed Juventus the negotiations would not go ahead for various reasons. That is Inter’s point of view.
“I prefer not to say anything else with regards to the clubs and Presidents. Can we sit back round a table? I don’t know, I prefer not to comment on that.”
President Erick Thohir is expected to fly in from Indonesia to watch Inter-Catania on Sunday.
Marotta specifically named Fassone as the person he secured a “verbal agreement” with for the Vucinic-Guarin exchange.
