Diego Fabbrini has been promised a new improved contract at Udinese, his representative has confirmed.
The attacking midfielder is presently tied to the outfit until 2014, but talks regarding a renewal are on the horizon.
“We started to discuss the matter in the summer, with the intent to look at it again once the transfer window had closed,” Beppe Galli told TMW.
“He has a contract for another two years, but we need to see each other again to extend that and increase his salary.
“That was an agreement that we made some time ago.”
The 22-year-old is a potential star of the future and was even handed his first Italian cap in the August 2-1 friendly loss to England.
So far this season, Fabbrini has been used in all three League games – even if his minutes only total 75.
“I expect him to play with a lot more consistency this season,” Galli continued. “He showed towards the end of last term that all youngsters need to play in order to grow.
“He has some exceptional skills.”
