Former Napoli striker Freddy Rincon is in critical condition in hospital after a serious car crash in Colombia.
The Colombia international is now 55 years old and was involved in the accident when his vehicle was rammed side-on by a bus in Cali.
Initial reports suggest the player had run a red light and did not realise the bus was coming through the crossroads.
Rincon, his three passengers and the bus driver are all believed to have sustained injuries.
A statement from the local hospital confirms Rincon is in a critical condition and has undergone surgery.
Local news sources published CCTV footage showing the moment of impact between the car and the bus.
He played for Napoli in the 1994-95 season, but also represented Real Madrid, Palmeiras, Santos, Cruzeiro and Corinthians.
The forward scored seven goals in 38 competitive matches for Napoli.
Rincon now works as a commentator on Colombian television.
