Former Milan striker George Weah is set to be elected President of Liberia following Tuesday’s election.
BBC News reports Weah won 61.5 percent of the vote, with 98.1% of the ballot counted and his only opponent far behind.
Renowned for his pace and clinical finishing, the 51-year-old spent five years at Milan between 1995 and 2000, winning two Scudetti.
He also became the first African player in history to win the Ballon d’Or and be named FIFA World Player of the Year in 1995.
