The France international sat down with RMC Sport to discuss his career and the move to Turin after eight years in Manchester.
“It was a family issue. It’s hard to talk about it now. It was heart-breaking, but I made that choice for my family. I don’t want to talk about the details.
“Manchester United did not want me to leave, but before the end of the season, I explained that I had to leave. It was the right choice.”
Evra won the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and reached the Champions League Final with Juve, but they’ve started the new Serie A season with problems.
“People are used to seeing us win. There is enormous pressure here. We lost three big players and big personalities, Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez, but that’s not the problem. The new players must adapt to training and adapt to being at a big club. We just need time.”
He was asked about his future and potential switch to Major League Soccer or return to France.
“I am not a magician, so I don’t know what will happen in the future. In life, you never know. If I do move on, it won’t be to just take the money and run. That would be useless.
“I want to continue as long as my body tells me it can.”
